If you are tired of work or school or whatever, go out tonight to somewhere dark and secluded in nature where no one will see you. Lay on the grass or dirt and watch the sky. To lay down with no expectations, no competition, no judgment, it's so healing. It's so calming to watch the stars, feel the wind, listen to the bird and cricket chirps. I think everybody can benefit from spending some time alone like this.

Free mounting unicycle
Unicycling is fun!
After months since I learned how to ride a unicycle, I never learned how to freemount until recently. It feels great finally able to do it after so much practice!
I'm gonna go learn how to idle now.

Running barefoot
I am planning to run my first half marathon in April 2026. The longest race I have ever ran is 5k, so it is quite a big jump to 21k. To further challenge myself, I am also trying to train to run it with barefoot shoes. This is because I want get rid of my habbit of heel striking and overstriding because it causes knee problems over time.
A few days ago, I ran an easy 10k with regular running shoes. I put a lot of emphasis on increasing my cadence and not heel striking. After the run with this different form, my calves felt super sore, so I stretched them for around 20 minutes. The pain and tightness when doing even basic things like walking was even worse the next day. After 3 days, the pain was mostly gone and I went for a run with the same form and after 2k I decided to stop because I could start to feel my calves getting sore again.
I think the muscle that is getting used when running with toe striking is the soleus muscle

Dinomyrmex Gigas nuptial flight
I caught four more dinomyrmex gigas queens during another nuptial flight.
There were some insects flying around a lamp. One of the insects dropped down to the floor and I saw it was a dinomyrmex gigas queen. Over the next few minutes, three other queens landed around this area. There were also a lot of male ants together.
The queen in the picture above sprayed formic acid while she was in the catching tube and was not able to walk properly for a few hours. I thought she would die, but she still seems fine. This let me take a closer picture of her.
Click here to see the image of the queen compared to a 30mm diameter test tube.
I have put each queen in a plastic tub with soil.

Found a queen ant, she is HUGEE!!!(3cm approx) I hope she can start a colony. I've never taken care of an ant colony before.
She is likely a Giant Forest Ant(Dinomyrmex gigas) native to Southeast Asia.
I don't think she even fits in a regular test tube. I have put her in a plastic bottle temporarily.

peacock bass
Caught by my friend when we went fishing at lower seletar reservoir. It had 3 baby snakeheads in its mouth. The peacock bass is an invasive species eating the native snakehead.
